L&N Railroad Marine Terminal Building

  • Location:Pensacola, Florida
  • Size:3,400 sq. ft.
  • Cost:$425,000

Project Info:

Originally located at Commendencia Street Wharf, the historic L & N Railroad Marine Terminal has been a part of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 1972 when it was disassembled and relocated “stock by stick” to its present location on Main Street. The 2002-2007 restoration of this building restored the traditional heavy timber posts, brackets, and beam in the exhibition space. The addition of an elevator and exterior stair were necessary additions for building code compliance for this re-adaption into a commercial building. The terminal now serves as the office of the Northwest Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network.
