The new headquarters facility for the Gulf Breeze Fire Department is located adjacent to a residential area, which created the need for a low scale structure with architecturally compatible details. The use of brick and glazing with a curved and low slope roof maintained the neighborhood character, establishing itself as a community landmark. The building was constructed to resist hurricane forces and to be self sufficient after a disaster event.
